Travel Q&A: Meet Refiloe

With an increasing desire to spend extra days networking and exploring new destinations with loved ones, work travel is transitioning into a lifestyle trend rather than an obligation, according to a trend report from Skift.

Refiloe Kobeli is a Travelpreneur “If I’m not checking into some exotic island, sipping on a colourful cocktail or taking million pictures, you will find me stuck in front of my computer creating inspiring visual content or sending people on Vacations” she explains.

TES: Why do you like travelling?

RK: I’m a travel expert and always love to have personal experience of destinations so I can be in a better position to recommend stuff for my clients also create great connections with suppliers and other people in the travel community.

TES: Your best travel tip/advice?

RK: Learn some basic phrases like hello, thank you, please, bye, beautiful, yes and no it goes a long way. Secondly follow the rules.

TES: Top 3 travel essentials?

RK: Camera, sunscreen and universal adaptor.

TES: Would you recommend solo travel?

RK: It’s not for everyone, if you can make friends easily, can speak to strangers and super independent then you can solo travel.

TES: How has travel changed you?

RK: I’m very open minded, my confidence is on 100, I’m accepting of different cultures and there is always something valuable I learn on each trip 

TES: Your worst travel experience

RK: When someone offered to take our picture in Jamaica, Ocho Rios and ran off with my camera.

TES: Where have you been inspired to travel to lately and why?

RK: Kenya for it’s culture and scenery 

TES: What is the most adventurous trip you have been on?

RK: Most of my trips includes adventure, the latest one was Elgin Valley did so many exciting activities  from mountain biking, kayaking, zorbing, zipline and segways.

TES: Ever felt vulnerable during your travels? How did you overcome it?

RK: Never, I guess it has to do with my personality.

TES: Things that annoy you about travelling? 

RK: Packing, checking in and long flights
